Wood Flooring Will Never Be
More Secure!
W.W.
Henry is pleased to announce a new generation wood
adhesive, HENRY SureLock™ 1171,
designed for installations of engineered wood and parquet.
HENRY SureLock 1171 is a significant advancement in
wood floor adhesive technology that delivers an optimum
balance of installation and performance characteristics.
HENRY
SureLock 1171 will set new standards for the expectations
of adhesives used for engineered wood
and parquet floors. Incorporating Henry’s new
SureLock technology, HENRY 1171 delivers higher ultimate
bond strength and increased resistance to subfloor
moisture, while maintaining the flexibility needed
for long-term installation integrity. But what do these
extraordinary features mean to the installation professional?
Developed
With No Compromise
Historically, early generations
of latex-based adhesives have had good initial grab
while sacrificing bond strength. Conversely, adhesives
with higher bond strength sometimes sacrificed
initial grab. HENRY SureLock 1171 combines the benefit
of strong initial grab with higher early bond strength
development and ultimate bond.
HENRY
SureLock 1171’s aggressive early grab
and rebond holds the wood floor in place during the
installation. A key characteristic of the new SureLock
technology is the early strength development. The adhesive
develops strength quickly in the first 24 hours, helping
to minimize end lifting and hollow spots.
Easy
to Use - With The Optimal Working Time For Wood
Installations
Many wood adhesives can be difficult
to use. HENRY SureLock 1171 trowels nicely, and is
easy to clean up afterwards. Wood can be set into HENRY SureLock 1171 immediately
after troweling, but works best with a few minutes
of open time. W.W. Henry has achieved the perfect balance
between working time and bond development, giving the
installer an ideal timeline for installing wood. The optimal recommended maximum working time is approximately
30 minutes, depending on temperature and humidity.
Higher
Ultimate Bond Strength & Flexibility
HENRY
SureLock 1171 delivers higher bond strength combined
with greater flexibility and elongation versus prior
generations of latex-based wood adhesives. The bond strength of the adhesive required to adhere
engineered wood has always been a question. Higher
bond strength, on its own, does not tell the whole
story, and too much or too little can cause problems.
Some adhesive technologies provide extremely high
bond strength, but lack flexibility. Subfloor movement
can then cause either the wood or adhesive to fracture.
These adhesives are also very difficult to remove.
On the other side of the spectrum, some latex-based
adhesives have excellent flexibility, but lower bond
strength.
HENRY SureLock 1171 has higher bond strength, but
retains elongation and flexibility characteristics.
This helps it to withstand seasonal and dimensional
changes within the wood. The contractor, installer
and floor owner can feel confident in knowing HENRY
SureLock 1171 will keep the wood installation secure.
Enhanced
Moisture & Alkali Resistance
The growing
popularity of wood has increased the demand for installing
wood directly over concrete, driving an increased need
for adhesives that will resist the influence and impact
of subfloor moisture. HENRY SureLock 1171 was developed
to withstand higher levels of moisture.
So,
how much moisture in the subfloor will HENRY SureLock
1171 withstand? More than
most wood flooring structures can handle! Testing
has confirmed that the adhesive
will continue to bond even as wood manufacturer guidelines for moisture is exceeded and damage starts
to appear in the wood. While
W.W. Henry continues to support the wood manufacturers
recommendations for moisture limits, isn't it reassuring
to know that HENRY SureLock
1171 will continue to perform even when the wood flooring
capabilities are exceeded?
Solvent-Free & Low
Odor
W.W.
Henry’s commitment
to lowering the impact of adhesives on users is evident
in HENRY SureLock 1171. This low VOC, solvent-free
and low odor adhesive is a member of Henry’s
Next Generation line of environmentally preferred products.
