INSTALLATION
INSTRUCTIONS
SURFACE
PREPARATION:
- Surfaces
must be sound, solid and completely clean.
- Remove
existing sealers or paints, patching compounds, weak
or loose areas, dust, dirt, oil, form release or
any contaminant which may act as a bondbreaker.
- It
may be necessary to sand or grind a surface to obtain
a solid substrate.
- Do
not use solvents or acids as a means of surface preparation.
- When
repairing wood rot, completely remove rotting portion
of wood prior to repairing with HENRY Patch & Go.
- Surfaces
to receive HENRY Patch & Go should be at a minimum
temperature of 50°F (10°C).
RECOMMENDED
TOOLS:
- Mixing
bucket, margin trowel, steel trowel or putty knife.
HENRY Patch & Go can be mixed in its own container
using a mixing stick or a mechanical mixing paddle
and a drill.
MIXING:
- HENRY
Patch & Go mixing ratio is 2 parts powder with one
part water by volume. Mix the 7 lb. contents with 7 cups
(56 oz.) of water.
NOTE: The use of more water will weaken HENRY Patch & Go and lower
its durability.
- Mix
only as much as you can place in 15 minutes.
- Use
cool water to mix. Warm or hot water may cause material
to set up faster. Cold water may cause material to
dry slower.
- Use
slightly less water for a thicker patch consistency
for deep filling.
- Place
water in the mixing container. Begin mixing by hand
while gradually adding the powder. Stir to a lump-free
consistency. NOTE: Mixing with a drill will produce
a creamier and smoother consistency.
INSTALLATION:
- Use
the enclosed plastic trowel or putty knife can be
used for small areas, a steel trowel for large surfaces.
- Apply
sufficient pressure to fill in all surface defects.
- Where
necessary, minor touch-up work or a smooth surface
can be accomplished by using a slightly dampened
sponge once the surface has hardened. If the material
has already fully set, the surface can be smoothed
with fine sand paper.
- HENRY
Patch & Go is a white, Portland cement color.
As with all natural materials, variations in color
can occur. If a solid, consistent color is desired,
it is recommended that an opaque sealer is used.
- HENRY
Patch & Go contains no sand or gritty fillers
and can be placed to a true featheredge for perfectly
smooth transitions. It can also be used in small
areas to fill gouges, dents and holes at depths of
1" or greater. NOTE: Small areas require only
15 minutes of drying time, while thicker areas will
take longer to harden.
- Pot
life: 15-20 minutes at 70°F (21°C). If product
begins to set in the bucket, re-mix by hand or using
a mixing paddle and drill to re-temper. DO NOT ADD
MORE WATER!
- Shelf
life is 12 months if not opened.
DRYING:
- HENRY
Patch & Go requires no special curing or drying
procedures. In fact, due to its unique formulation,
application of a latex paint or water-borne sealer
can begin as soon as the surface has hardened. It
does not need to be completely dry.
- The
time until the surface hardens will vary with jobsite
conditions, weather, type of substrate, and thickness
of installation.
- Smoothing
over small voids in plaster, wood, or drywall may
require 15 minutes of drying time, while thicker
applications, as well as those outdoors at cooler
temperatures may take an hour or more.
