| DIRECTIONS:
Refer to flooring
manufacturers specific recommendations before
spreading the adhesive. Condition the area to be installed,
adhesive and flooring at 65°F (18°C) or above
for 48 hours before, during and 48 hours after installation.
Subfloors must be flat within 3/16. in 10 ft. or 1/8.
in 6 ft. Fill low spots with a portland cement-based
leveling compound with a minimum compressive strength
of 3000 psi and allow to dry. For commercial applications,
the compressive strength should be a minimum of 3500
psi. Subfloor must be smooth, sound, dry, clean and
free of excessive moisture and/or alkali. Remove dirt,
wax, polish, paint, and all other foreign matter which
may interfere in a good bond, including curing agents
and sealers. All loose subfloor boards must be renailed
or properly bonded to create a sound subfloor. Moisture
test results should meet the flooring manufacturer's
recommendations but should not exceed 3 pounds/1000
sq ft/24 hours.
- If installing over
concrete, run a moisture test. Refer to the wood
flooring manufacturers recommendations.
- Spread the adhesive
with the recommended trowel.
- Do not spread more
adhesive than can be covered with wood within 4560
minutes.
- Installation of the
wood should begin immediately. Working time may
vary due to air movement, humidity, subfloor porosity
and temperature.
- Do not allow a heavy
film to form on the adhesive. Should this occur,
remove the adhesive and spread fresh adhesive.
- Press wood into adhesive.
Occasionally check the back of a board for adequate
adhesive transfer.
- If necessary, roll
the floor with a 100 lb. roller or walk the wood
into place by stepping on each piece. This should
be done at the end of each two-hour period and at
the end of the work day.
- Avoid foot traffic
for 24 hours after installation.
- Do not apply finishes
to unfinished products until adhesive has properly
cured.
- Do not cover floor
for 48 hours (refer to wood installation instructions
for further details).
