INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

DIRECTIONS:
PREPARATION
• Read installation instructions and MSDS thoroughly prior to installation.
• All surfaces must be clean, dry and free of dust, grease, paints, oils, sealers and curing compounds, or any other foreign materials which may interfere with proper adhesion. Condition the area to be installed, adhesive and flooring at 65°F (18°C) or above for 48 hours before, during and 48 hours after installation.
• Prior to applying adhesive to rubber stair treads, lightly sand the entire back of the tread and nosing and wipe with denatured alcohol to remove any contaminants which may interfere with proper adhesion. Fill cracks and uneven surfaces with cementitious patching compound.
INSTALLATION:
NOTE: Use HENRY 452 Epoxy Adhesive for installing stair tread nose.
POROUS SUBSTRATES
• For rubber tile and sheet flooring: Apply adhesive onto the substrate using a 1/16” x 1/16” x 1/16” Square-notch trowel and allow to dry for approximately 5-10 minutes. If adhesive is allowed to remain uncovered beyond the initial drying period (periods longer than 40 minutes depending on environmental conditions), a loss of adhesive strength may occur. Do not spread more adhesive than can be installed in 40 minutes. Roll rubber tile and sheet flooring with a 75-100 lb. roller or flooring manufacturer’s recommended roller across width and length.
• For Stair Treads, keep HENRY 412 adhesive back about 1/2” from nose of stair. Apply adhesive onto the substrate using a 1/16” x 1/16” x 1/16” Square-notch trowel and allow to dry for approximately 5-10 minutes. During the drying time for HENRY 412 Adhesive, apply HENRY 452 Epoxy Adhesive to the stair tread nose, in the 1/2” area not covered with HENRY 412 Adhesive. Press nosing into stair so epoxy molds to shape of nosing and stair. Roll with a J-type hand roller.
NON-POROUS SUBSTRATES
• For rubber tile and sheet flooring: Apply adhesive to substrate using a 1/16” x 1/16” x 1/16” V-notch trowel. Allow adhesive to dry for about 30 minutes or close to the “dry to touch” state with minimal transfer to the finger. At that time, you have up to 15 minutes to install the rubber tile or sheet flooring. Roll rubber tile and sheet flooring with a 75-100 lb. roller or flooring manufacturer's recommended roller across width and length.
• For Stair Treads, keep HENRY 412 adhesive back about 1/2” from nose of stair. Apply adhesive to substrate using a 1/16” x 1/16” x 1/16” V-notch trowel. Do not spread more adhesive than can be installed in 45 minutes. Allow adhesive to dry for about 30 minutes or close to the “dry to touch” state with minimal transfer to the finger. At that time, you have up to 15 minutes to install the rubber or vinyl stair treads. During the drying time for the HENRY 412 Adhesive, apply HENRY 452 Epoxy Adhesive to stair tread nose. Press nosing into stair so epoxy molds to shape of nosing and stair. Roll with a J-type hand roller
NOTE: Avoid traffic for 12 hours after installation.
