INSTALLATION
INSTRUCTIONS
|
DIRECTIONS:
Refer to ceramic tile manufacturer’s
specific recommendations. Condition the area to be installed,
adhesive and tile at 65°F (18°C) or above for
48 hours before, during and 48 hours after installation.
Wall and/or floor must be sound, smooth, dry, clean
and free of excessive moisture and/or alkali. Remove
dirt, wax, loose paint and all other foreign matter
that would interfere with a good bond such as curing
agents and sealers. Glossy painted surfaces and glazed
ceramic tile must be abraded.
- Stir
any liquid on the surface into the adhesive and spread
using the recommended trowel notching.
- Full
spread adhesive evenly with flat side of recommended
trowel to obtain a good mechanical bond. Do not leave
bare spots. Comb the adhesive with the notched side
of trowel.
- Only
apply enough adhesive that can be covered in 1 hour.
- Install
ceramic tile immediately. Within 60 minutes, cut and
fit as recommended by the ceramic tile manufacturer.
Do not allow a heavy film to form on surface of adhesive.
- Twist
or beat tile for maximum contact between the back
of tile and adhesive.
- Allow
adhesive to dry overnight before grouting. Tile installations
over plywood floors must dry at least 48 hours before
grouting.
- Adhesive
must set overnight before exposing to traffic or applying
finish.
