INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

DIRECTIONS:
Refer to panel manufacturer’s specific recommendations. Condition the area to be installed, adhesive and panels (laying flat) at 65°F (18°C) or above for 48 hours before, during and 48 hours after installation. Surface must be sound, smooth, dry, clean and free of excessive moisture or alkali. Remove dirt, wax, loose paint and all other foreign matter that would interfere with a good bond such as curing agents and sealers. This adhesive should not be used in situations where odors may be transmitted to foodstuffs.

  • Stir any liquid on the surface into the adhesive.
  • Full spread adhesive on back of panel using recommended trowel. Do not leave bare spots. Press down firmly on the trowel to avoid adhesive between ridges.
  • Dry fit first panel vertically in a corner where walls intersect. Mark corner edge with dividers. Trim marked edge with saw to fit corner.
  • Place back in corner and mark any cutouts. Use a fine-toothed saw to make cutouts. Mounting screws can be cut with a utility knife after panel is installed.
  • Place panel against wall within 15 minutes. Press firmly over entire surface working from center to edges so that entire back of panel is in full contact with wall.
  • If wall irregularities prevent the adhesive from holding panels tight to the wall, press firmly again after 10 minutes, and use temporary bracing or a finishing nail to hold while the adhesive sets.
  • For channel moldings and for permanent fasteners, follow the panel manufacturer’s recommendations. Do not fit panels too tightly into moldings. A minimum 1/16" expansion space is needed.
