Overview:
ARDEX Americas (ardexamericas.com) and W.W. Henry (www.wwhenry.com) are global leaders in the development, manufacturing and distribution of high-performance specialty cements, adhesives and building products for substrate preparation, floor covering installations, wall finishing and exterior concrete repair for commercial and residential applications.
ARDEX are in the process of a US expansion, including the addition of a fifth manufacturing plant in Stockton, CA, and we are currently recruiting an experienced, Plant Supervisor for our brand new facility.
Job Summary
This position is responsible for supervising and leading plant operations, including manufacturing, shipping/receiving, and maintenance, all in accordance with our Mission and Key Managing Principles. Safety, Quality, Cost of Operations and Staff Development are key measures for the Plant Supervisor.
Job Responsibilities:

Ensuring all personnel adhere to rigorous safety requirements and actively participate in maintaining, and improving plant safety programs including safety training, safety audits and safety inspections

Ensure all personnel are actively involved in plant quality process, and that all potential or actual quality issues are handled quickly and thoroughly

Continuously evaluate staff capabilities versus needs, analyzing the gaps, and work to coach, develop, cross-train, providing feedback to the Plant Manager in regards to staffing development, recruitment and retention. Conduct annual performance appraisals and quarterly bonus evaluations to enhance employee development

Enforce plant and corporate policies among the staff and plant visitors as appropriate

Oversee the plant production schedule to meet customer demands, coordinating with Logistics and Customer Service to ensure all production and shipping needs are met – adjusting resources and requirements as appropriate

Monitor downtime and ensure that preventative, and corrective maintenance activities occur as required

In coordination with the Plant Manager, evaluate plant operations hours and staffing versus the manufacturing, shipping, maintenance, and training center support demands and adjust hours and/or staffing as required to meet the needs

Drive a culture emphasizing Lean and 5S principles throughout the facility

Ensure that all operations personnel are performing in a productive manner and are trained for their position

Focused effort on management of plant materials including waste, recycle and potential obsolescence

Stay proficient in operational duties where possible to serve as a temporary back up

All other miscellaneous duties as assigned
Requirements:
-
Five (5) years supervisory experience – preferably within a manufacturing environment

Knowledge of 5S and Lean Six Sigma highly advantageous

Hands-on mechanical skills

Meticulous and detail-oriented
-
Effective writing, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a professional image and a 1st approach to customer service

Demonstrable financial management, change management, and conflict management skills
-
Able to handle multiple priorities and possess sound judgment within a fast paced, results driven environment

Familiarity in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook and the Internet
-
SAP experience/familiarity
-
Excellent time management, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills

Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds, able to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods of time, and able to ascend and descend several flights of stairs frequently throughout the day
Organizational Relationships

Reporting Relationship: Reports to the Plant Manager

Directly Supervises: Maintenance, Shipping, QC and all Production personnel
Travel Requirements
Education:Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and/or experienceCompensation:
